After David Stern announced the suspensions for Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal, Stephen Jackson, and Ben Wallace, all I have to say is, what a load of crap! The penalty is absolutely absurd. When Ben Wallace first attacked Artest, Artest was willing to walk away and Wallace jumped around like a professional boxer wanting to pick a fight even more with him. Wallace was the one who began the whole mess and Artest tried to do the professional thing originally. Second, I can't blame Artest for going into the stands when projectiles are being thrown at his face. Fans have the right to talk all kinds of trash to the opponents but they don't have the right to attack him physically. If someone wants to pick a fight you have the right to defend yourself. Now, Artest shouldn't have attacked the guy standing in his way on the court, and I think he should be suspended for some period for that. I think he should be suspended for roughly 10-15 games because he tried to show restraint initially and then idiotic fans attacked him and threw him over the edge. And what's going to happen to all those fans who threw stuff at him, held him back and threw punches at him? Will they get arrested and/or fined? They'd better, they were certainly worse than Artest that night. And if Stern is intent on suspending him for the season he better damn well reconsider giving Ben Wallace a bigger suspension than 6 games for continuing to be a complete jackass and just as big a threat after Artest walked away. If it was anyone else than Artest, I really believe that the suspensions would have been less...look at the suspensions of everyone else, especially the "minor" suspensions to all the pistons players. It shows the NBA really is out to get this guy. (And they say the NHL is corrupt, wait, what NHL? Not that I've missed hockey anyway! I barely noticed it was there to begin with!)

Several phone conversations later, you remember who really cares about you.

I wish I knew some way to just let go.... despite how hard I've tried I don't think I've ever really been able to do that.

I give the other Ed props... he just flat outran me today in the 5k, finishing a little over a minute better than me. My time was 22:38.... that guy can run a lot better than I gave him credit for.

I think it's interesting that the Coley had to call me in order to figure out what his own cell phone number was.

A lot of people say I pull a really active lifestyle. Maybe if I had the attention span to put that much effort into Survey of Algebra I'd be pulling an A or B in there....

We actually won an IM volleyball game tonight! I never thought I'd live to see the day. We had a stand-in tonight because April was out, and that was probably the reason we won because she had a great serve. I wish April was there.

For some reason when I was talking to my brother on the phone last night I started using a cheesy southern accent. I guess you know what that means!

So in music theory today I realized I didn't have my book necessary for musicianship (directly after music theory), causing me to leave my backpack in Cabell, run to the Moosetrap, run back to Cabell, all in 9 minutes. If Dwight's correct that I have a third lung, I think I killed it today. :-P

As Neo says in the final Matrix, "This ends tonight." It must. It probably won't, and it may take several days, but it must end. Lots of people are nervous about what will happen at the end of the day. I just hope a conclusion is found by the end of the day. To have to wait longer on something that's been cooking for a while is a recipe for chaos. Oh, yeah, and then there's the election today!
