OpenGL may be primitive in graphical standards but you sure can create some neat stuff with it!

The smoke finally begins to clear after the terrible events of a week ago. You never really know what to say when such a horrible thing occurs. Every day on the news you see a further investigation into the crime scene and the mind of Cho. I pondered making a post a few days ago, thinking of praising how everyone (including UVA students) have come together, putting all differences aside, to show support for the entire Tech family. But I couldn't convince myself to make that post... it's wonderful how people have come together in support, but I felt that by just focusing on the "positive spin" you minimize or trivialize what has occurred.

I just pray that God comforts everyone who has been affected... the survivors, the families of the students killed, and Cho's family. Hopefully those who were lost are now in a better place.

On a Christian radio station, I heard a pastor being interviewed, and someone asked how a loving God could let something like this happen. The response from the pastor was that God allows us to make our own choices, people tend forget that there is also a "Devil" out there. Maybe we all tend to forget from time to time what forces are truly at work in our lives. I pray that we all learn to obey good and resist evil.

As someone who works a lot with time zone validations for financial software, I find this odd:

"Please note that the town of Greenwich does NOT follow Greenwich Mean Time during summer."
Current time zone offset: UTC/GMT +1 hour

FYI, having explained this to many people.... Eastern Standard Time is GMT -5; Eastern Daylight Time is GMT -4.

In the end, the only thing that truly matters is....

The irony of the NCAA tournament is that every team that makes it to the second round has a .500 record in the tournament, and every team that makes it beyond the second round has a winning record in the tournament. Seems like there should be more wins than losses, huh? And yet the total number of wins & losses is equal!
